Handel’s profound and glorious musical recounting of the story of Moses and the Israelites is on a scope and scale that is unique amongst his oratorios. November 27, 8 PMHAYDN's THE LORD NELSON MASS IN THE GLENN GOULD STUDIO
with Charlotte Corwin (Soprano soloist), Christina Stelmacovich (Alto soloist), Bud Roach (Tenor soloist), Neil Aronoff (Bass soloist), Missa Sunt Bona Mixta Malis | Salve Regina in E Major. This year marks the 200th Anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn, a composer whose genius is all too often overshadowed by his lively contemporary, and friend, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. To honour the occasion, Aradia presents a concert of Haydn’s choral and vocal works. The Mass Fragment Missa Sunt Bona Mixta Malis will be the world premiere, in a reconstruction by Kevin Mallon. The bittersweet Salve Regina in E Major was written when Haydn’s love Terese Keller chose to enter a convent rather than marry. The concert concludes with the glorious Lord Nelson Mass, so called because of Napoleon’s recent defeat by British Admiral Horatio Nelson.

Opera Giiwedin
Christopher Hoile in Eyeweekly says:
Giiwedin is a hugely imaginative and ambitious first opera by co-composers Spy Dénommé-Welch and Catherine Magowan. …..The music created by the co-composers for a four-piece baroque ensemble is so witty, so endlessly inventive and so well performed, the show is worth seeing for its sake alone…….
